Alberta Women in Mission
Alberta Women in Mission (AWM) is an organization of eight women's groups, most of which are from Mennonite Church Alberta congregations. AWM is also affiliated with Canadian Women in Mission.
Our AWM motto is: "So then, as often as we have the chance, we should do good to everyone, and especially to those who belong to our family of faith." Galatians 6:10.
AWM encourages women to be personally reconciled and committed to Jesus
Christ. We commit ourselves to:
- Promote spiritual growth through Bible study, prayer, other Christiandisciplines and fellowship.
- Discern and nurture women's gifts and skills as given by the Holy Spirit for leadership and service in the local church, the community and the world.
- Build relationships and networks for support, affirmation, discernment, witness, service and celebration.
- Support and strengthen the missional outreach of Mennonite Church Alberta.
Some of our current projects:
- Support for Jeannette and Todd Hanson with the China Educational Exchange program in Nanchong, China
- Five projects with MCC Global Family in Bangladesh
- Family Life centre in Macau
- Tuition Assistance for young women affiliated with Mennonite Church Alberta wishing to attend a post-secondary Mennonite institution in Canada. Download a PDF version of the application form here.
